About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed patrol Security Officer for an assigned chemical and petrochemical facility in Ventura, California. The position offers a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Extra shifts may allow employees to increase their hours up to 40 hours per week, while retaining the option to scale back. The pay rate is $18.91 per hour. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facility interiors, exterior areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials, and report unauthorized activity or unusual conditions according to site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; escalate concerns to site contacts and emergency personnel when needed.
• Complete activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
