Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Protection
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Officer for a university location in Chicago, Illinois. The officer will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role supports a welcoming campus environment through clear communication and responsive assistance. The position is scheduled Fridays and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The pay rate is $19.50 per hour. Employees can use the Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any licensing requirements that apply under state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests by following site-specific security procedures and policies and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly and with a problem-solving approach to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following campus protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazardous conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate contacts.
- Prepare accurate reports and communicate clearly with campus personnel, Allied Universal leadership, and emergency responders as needed.
