Security Officer Full Time Access Operations

About The Position

As a Security Officer in Access Operations at a healthcare location in Lansing, Michigan, you will help manage entry points, verify authorized access, monitor activity, and provide professional customer service to staff, visitors, and patients. Your visible presence and clear communication will help deter security-related incidents while supporting a welcoming environment. You will work with Allied Universal teams that emphasize putting people first and acting with integrity. This is a full-time position scheduled Wednesday through Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old for armed roles.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, patients, and staff while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors according to site procedures.
Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and access-related records; issue and recover authorized credentials, keys, and other access items as directed by site policy.
Respond calmly to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations, and promptly report concerns to appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, business areas, and the perimeter to identify unauthorized access or unusual activity.
