About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer in Access Operations in Shelby Township, Michigan, you will safeguard a technology, media, and telecommunications location. You will manage access points, verify credentials, monitor entry activity, conduct routine patrols, help deter security-related incidents, and provide customer service and communication. The role requires integrity, reliability, and a people-first mindset while collaborating with a supportive team. The position is scheduled Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.68 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old or older for armed roles.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any state or local licensing requirements that may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by following site-specific access-control procedures and policies, and carrying out emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor access points and verify identification, credentials, visitor registrations, and authorization requirements before permitting entry.
Operate access-control systems, maintain accurate visitor and contractor records, issue and recover credentials as directed, and report access discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, following established escalation and notification procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, restricted areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
