About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Access Control Officer at a residential location in Columbia, South Carolina. The officer will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, respond to security concerns, conduct routine patrols, help deter incidents, and provide professional customer service and communication. The position is scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, at a rate of $13.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• State or local licensing requirements may apply and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for residents, guests, visitors, vendors, and deliveries in accordance with residential community procedures.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, vehicle, and access-control records, and communicate relevant information to authorized site personnel.
• Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site-specific procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
