About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer - Cleared (Clearance Required - Unarmed) for a government site in Clifton, New Jersey. The officer will protect personnel, property, and sensitive or classified information while providing professional security services. The role includes specialized training in site-specific security protocols associated with the required clearance level. The posting identifies the position as temporary and lists a starting rate of $28.00 per hour. Available schedules are listed as Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m., and 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 a.m.; the latter two times appear as written in the posting.

Requirements

• Must possess an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance or a DoD position-appropriate level security clearance.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Must have a minimum of three years of security experience on a DoD-cleared site or prior military experience.
• Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client-specific sites.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior law enforcement or armed security experience.
• Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality security services, safeguarding personnel, property, and information with professionalism.
• Conduct foot, bicycle, or vehicle patrols within and around the facility to protect people, assets, and sensitive or classified information.
• Greet guests and employees, and escort visitors and contractors to secure entry and exit points.
• Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders; report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances through written and oral communication to the client and/or other security personnel.
• Respond to and assess security alarms or emergency alarms.
• Act as a first responder in emergency situations.
