About The Position

As a Security Officer Licensed Patrol in Albany, New York, you will serve and safeguard clients at a government location. In this unarmed patrol role, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, assist with access control, and provide customer service and communication. The position is full-time and pays $22.30 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 9:45 PM to 6:00 AM.

Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with access control and badges is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at a government education location.
• Respond calmly to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site policies, maintain required logs, and complete clear, accurate incident documentation.
• Communicate respectfully with the public and follow Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
