About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed patrol Security Officer in De Soto, Kansas. The role provides a fixed weekly anchor shift at an assigned site, requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Additional shifts can provide opportunities to work up to 40 hours per week, with flexibility to scale back. The posted schedule is Friday, 6:45 AM–3:15 PM. The pay rate is $25.06 per hour.

The officer will provide customer service and perform security-related procedures, patrols, access monitoring, incident response, and documentation at a technology, media, and telecommunications location. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local rules. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements before employment, if required.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including offices, common areas, parking facilities, entrances, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and maintain visitor, patrol, and incident documentation.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, communicating with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Report maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and other security-related conditions to Allied Universal leadership and designated client representatives.
