About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring an unarmed Security Officer for patrol duties at a government location in Reno, Nevada. The position provides customer service while following site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency-response activities. The officer conducts patrols, monitors entry points, responds to incidents, and completes required reports.

This is a part-time enhanced role with an assigned site and fixed weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. The stated pay rate is $18.35 per hour. The scheduled shift is Sunday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• An unarmed private investigator license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency-response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorization for entry, document visitor activity, and direct individuals to appropriate locations.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and request emergency assistance when needed.
• Prepare accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
