About The Position

As a part-time unarmed Security Officer at an educational location in Port Orange, Florida, you will help safeguard students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners. You will monitor and patrol assigned campus areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and help provide a welcoming environment. The position involves customer service, responding to routine concerns and critical events, monitoring access, and communicating and documenting relevant information. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, at $18.50 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certification.
• A guard card or license.
• Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, access concerns, medical situations, and other critical events, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations; identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, campus event support, and adherence to property policies.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate with site contacts, Allied Universal leadership, and local emergency responders as appropriate.
