About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a retail location in New York, NY. The officer will help safeguard clients and customers by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, supporting access control, and promoting loss-prevention awareness. The role also involves providing professional customer service to shoppers and staff, addressing concerns, and responding to incidents and emergencies in accordance with site procedures.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements that apply under state or local laws and regulations; required licenses may need to be obtained before employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Loss prevention experience is preferred.
A guard card and/or license is preferred.
A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to shoppers, team members, and visitors while carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations.
Conduct regular and random patrols of sales floors, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
Monitor for unusual activity, policy concerns, and potential hazards, and report observations to appropriate site contacts or Allied Universal leadership.
Assist with access control and visitor interactions.
Document incidents and security-related activities in accordance with site procedures.
