About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time for Visitor Reception Services in Gahanna, Ohio. The position provides customer service and site-specific security support at a reception desk in a utilities environment. The role has assigned anchor shifts requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform. Employees may increase their hours up to 40 hours per week and can scale back when needed.

The scheduled shifts are Saturday and Sunday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.37 per hour. The position requires a valid driver’s license in accordance with company policy, although the posting also states that a license is required for driving positions only.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation, subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws.

• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a front desk in a utilities environment, following site-specific security procedures and policies.
• Monitor facility access by verifying visitor authorization, maintaining entry records, issuing temporary credentials as directed, and notifying appropriate personnel of visitor arrivals.
• Answer incoming calls, provide general site information, direct visitors, and maintain a professional, welcoming reception presence.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations by following emergency procedures and promptly notifying appropriate personnel.
• Observe and report unusual activity, access concerns, and facility conditions to Allied Universal leadership and/or site representatives.
