About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed patrol Security Officer for an assigned chemical/petrochemical site in Cumberland, Maryland. The role provides a designated weekly shift as a reliable base schedule, with a six-month commitment to that assignment. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, allowing them to increase their hours and work across multiple sites. The position offers a path to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The pay rate is $17.25 per hour. The listed schedule is Sunday, 4:00 AM–12:00 PM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements applicable under state or local laws and regulations; a license may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in accordance with site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, processing areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to identify unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor and control site access by verifying credentials, documenting visitor and contractor entry, and directing personnel according to site requirements.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications while remaining aware of changing site conditions.
