About The Position

United Protective Services is seeking a reliable, positive Security Officer with a flexible schedule to work at a variety of client sites. Flex Officers cover call-offs, vacations, and open schedules, responding to dispatched coverage needs. The role may involve a changing schedule from week to week, including overnight shifts when possible. Flex Officers receive higher pay than most regular Officers.

The Security Officer provides security detail in accordance with post orders, maintains awareness of activity in the assigned area, and builds working relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments. Officers are expected to maintain a professional image and provide excellent customer service. The position pays $17 per hour, and candidates must pass a drug test.

Requirements

• Reliable and positive disposition.
• Flexible schedule and willingness to work a changing schedule from week to week.
• Availability to work any shift; overnight availability is preferred if possible.
• Ability to conduct foot patrols.
• Strong customer-service personality.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work outside in the elements.
• Must pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Respond immediately to open-shift coverage needs when dispatched by the management team.
• Conduct foot patrols and maintain awareness of surroundings and activity in the assigned area.
• Engage in on-site conflict resolution.
• Assist clients with duties as assigned.
• Maintain daily activity logs in accordance with post orders.
• Create incident reports for unique incidents on site.
• Observe and report suspicious activity in accordance with post orders.
• Maintain and account for United Protective Services equipment before, during, and after each shift.
• Establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments.
• Maintain a professional image and demonstrate excellent customer service.
• Perform additional job duties as necessary.
