About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer to support an educational location in Brooklyn, New York. The role involves providing customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities. The officer conducts patrols, helps maintain a visible presence, supports access control, responds to incidents and alarms, and prepares reports.

The listed schedule is Thursday and Sunday, 12:00 AM–8:00 AM. The pay rate is $17.00 per hour. The position offers access to a shift-claiming platform, paid training, career growth opportunities, a retirement savings plan, and discounts through the Perks Program.

Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, parking areas, and campus perimeters to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following campus protocols and contacting appropriate personnel as needed.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances, checking credentials when required, directing visitors, and reporting access concerns.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity, incident, and maintenance-related reports in accordance with site procedures.
