About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Property Protection Patrol in Albany, New York. The position provides a fixed weekly shift at an assigned site, with a required six-month commitment. The scheduled anchor shift is Thursday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Employees may claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform, with opportunities to work up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. Pay is $20.00 per hour.

The officer provides customer service and performs unarmed patrols at a retail location, helping deter theft, trespassing, and disruptive behavior. The role also involves observing and reporting suspicious activity and hazards, responding professionally to incidents, and documenting activities according to site procedures.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors, and store personnel while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of sales areas, entrances, exits, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, policy concerns, and unusual conditions to appropriate store contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Document activities in accordance with site procedures.
• Help deter theft, trespassing, and disruptive behavior through a professional presence and adherence to established post orders.
