About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Officer for an aerospace and defense location in Herndon, Virginia. The officer will help safeguard the site through routine patrols, a visible security presence, access and visitor monitoring, and professional communication with employees and visitors. The role also involves responding to incidents and documenting observations in accordance with company and site-specific procedures. The position pays $24.02 per hour. The scheduled shifts are Friday and Saturday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Officers may use Allied Universal’s Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts. The role requires an active DoD Secret clearance and a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed work and are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen.

Requirements

Possess an active DoD Secret clearance.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any state or local licensing requirements that apply before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify unusual activity and deter unauthorized access.
Monitor access control points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report discrepancies or suspicious conditions to site leadership.
Document patrol observations, incidents, and security-related concerns according to Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
