About The Position

As a full-time Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transportation location in San Jose, California, you will help safeguard passengers, employees, visitors, and contractors. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support a welcoming environment, provide customer service, and respond professionally to security-related concerns. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The pay rate is $22.83 per hour. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and drug screen, as permitted by law. Applicable state or local licensing requirements may apply.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements prior to employment, if required.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific procedures, security policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, administrative areas, and perimeter locations.
• Identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
• Observe and report access-control concerns, property damage, suspicious activity, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports.
• Communicate professionally with transportation personnel, law enforcement, and the public.
