About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer to safeguard clients across a range of industries. Officers use the company’s shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on their availability, gaining experience at different sites. The position may involve irregular shifts with little or no advance notice.

The role includes conducting patrols, monitoring for safety and security concerns, controlling access, responding to incidents, keeping records, and assisting customers, employees, and visitors. The listed pay rate is $16.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or have five years of verifiable experience.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment depending on state and local laws.
• Have a valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Be subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen as conditions of employment.
• Be at least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state; 21 years of age if armed.
• Have reliability and the ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Demonstrate the ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Have effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Have active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Demonstrate teamwork and attention to detail.
• No prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire departments in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removals comply with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
