Security Officer Retail Site Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed patrol officer to support a commercial real estate location in Boston, Massachusetts. The officer will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide customer service and communication to tenants, visitors, and staff. The position pays $23.00 per hour. The posted schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1:30 PM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday from 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Officers may use the company’s Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts. The role includes paid training and access to career growth opportunities.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- State or local licensing requirements may apply and may be required before employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property representatives by carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of commercial real estate common areas, parking facilities, building perimeters, and exterior grounds to identify unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious behavior to site contacts and/or appropriate responders.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
- Accurately document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities in required reports and logs.
