About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for an airport location in Columbus, Ohio. The officer will safeguard clients and support a welcoming environment by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible security presence, supporting access control, and assisting travelers, visitors, and staff. The role involves communicating clearly, documenting observations with computer or tablet tools, and responding professionally to security concerns. The scheduled shifts are Wednesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The pay rate is $20.08 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for this unarmed position and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local regulations.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for this unarmed role.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, if required.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and contractors by following site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of terminal areas, parking facilities, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas.
Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, coordinating with airport operations and public-service personnel as appropriate.
Prepare daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff information in accordance with company and site-specific requirements.
