Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Response
About The Position
As a part-time Unarmed Patrol Response Security Officer at a retail location in Elkton, Maryland, you will help safeguard clients, shoppers, employees, and visitors. You will maintain a visible presence, conduct unarmed patrols, respond to incidents, and provide customer service while representing Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, care, teamwork, and integrity. The position is scheduled Wednesday through Saturday, 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and pays $18.00 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements depend on applicable state and local laws. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any licensing requirements imposed by applicable state and local laws and regulations; a license may be required before employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter.
- Monitor for unusual activity, potential hazards, and policy violations, and report observations through required documentation and communication channels.
- Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and support for retail operations while maintaining a professional presence that helps deter unauthorized activity.
