About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for access control at a corporate building in Bohemia, New York. The position has a designated weekly anchor shift that requires a six-month commitment. The scheduled shift is Saturday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, at a pay rate of $19.07 per hour. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and the option to scale back. The role provides customer service and security support to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel, including access monitoring, patrols, incident response, and reporting.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, consistent with applicable law.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at the assigned site.
• Carry out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, loading docks, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to identify unusual activity, access concerns, and potential hazards.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials according to site procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or policy concerns.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following site protocols and documenting observations and actions.
• Complete activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
