About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer to patrol a retail shopping center in Irvine, California. This is a driving position on the overnight shift. The officer will conduct routine and random patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, employees, and vendors. The role involves following site-specific security procedures and policies, responding to incidents and emergencies as appropriate, and working collaboratively and with integrity.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license, as required for driving positions and in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• State or local licensing may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with access control and badges.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, employees, and vendors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail common areas, parking areas, exterior perimeters, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report unusual conditions, hazards, property damage, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Assist with access control, provide directions, and support traffic or crowd flow during routine operations and special events.
