About The Position

As an unarmed shopping center patrol driver in Newport Beach, California, the Security Officer serves and safeguards clients at a retail center. The role conducts vehicle and foot patrols, maintains a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assists visitors, tenants, and employees with customer service. The officer supports a welcoming environment through clear communication, teamwork, and integrity while representing Allied Universal.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license, required for driving positions and in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time.
• State-, county-, or city-issued security license.
• Pepper spray certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, retailers, and employees by following security procedures and site-specific policies and, when appropriate, participating in emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail common areas, parking areas, storefront perimeters, and exterior grounds to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and property activity; report suspicious behavior, hazards, property damage, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site management, law enforcement, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
