Security Officer - Full Time Dispatch
About The Position
As a full-time Security Officer specializing in dispatch and incident intake at a commercial real estate location in Sterling, Virginia, you will coordinate security-related communications, monitor activity, document incidents, and support response efforts across the property. You will help provide a welcoming environment and deter incidents through a professional presence and clear communication. The role involves working with an agile, reliable, and innovative team that values putting people first, teamwork, and integrity. The schedule is Monday through Thursday and Sunday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM. The pay rate is $23.36 per hour.
Requirements
- Have supervisory experience.
- Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and conduct emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls for service, alarms, and other security-related incidents to appropriate personnel.
- Monitor communications systems, access control alarms, cameras, and other site systems; accurately document incidents and dispatch activity.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach, escalating concerns in accordance with site-specific protocols.
- Coordinate with building operations, tenants, visitors, and emergency responders as needed to support continuity of commercial property operations.
