About The Position

As a full-time unarmed patrol officer at an aerospace and defense location in Norfolk, Virginia, you will safeguard clients by monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, and providing customer service. You will communicate clearly, document security-related activity using technology, and support a professional environment through teamwork and integrity. The position pays $19.00 per hour and is scheduled overnight on Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9:30 PM to 5:30 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

A guard card or license is preferred.
CPR certification is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies, and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, and maintain accurate entry and incident documentation.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established escalation and reporting protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, grounds, restricted areas, and perimeter locations to identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership about observations, policy concerns, and security-related incidents.
