About The Position

As a full-time unarmed patrol Security Officer at a utilities location in Salem, Virginia, you will help safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and supporting access control and alarm response. You will provide customer service and clear communication while working with a team that acts with integrity. The schedule is overnight: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM. The pay rate is $18.67 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required by state or local regulations before employment. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions. Requirements

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to identify unusual conditions and deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access to assigned locations, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain required logs and documentation.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations by following site-specific procedures and communicating observations to appropriate personnel.
Report maintenance concerns, access-control issues, hazardous conditions, and other security-related observations according to established procedures.
