About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a logistics and distribution location in Edison, New Jersey. The officer helps maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing badge access, screening visitors and personnel, conducting patrols, and providing customer service and communication. The role includes responding to incidents and emergency situations in accordance with site procedures. The listed schedule is Monday 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, Tuesday 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, and Friday 4:00 PM–12:00 AM. Pay is $19.05 per hour.

Requirements

At least 2 years of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation, consistent with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
State or local licensing may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

X-ray screening experience is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and personnel while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization and identification as required, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity according to site procedures.
Control access to restricted areas, docks, yards, and facilities, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, perimeter, parking areas, and operational spaces to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
