About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to conduct access control at an industrial facility in Bethpage, New York. The officer will manage site entry, verify badges and credentials, monitor access points, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. The role involves professional communication with employees, visitors, and vendors while supporting a welcoming and orderly environment. The scheduled shifts are Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks. The position pays $17.96 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and access-control requirements, and perform emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor and control facility access by verifying authorization for visitors, employees, contractors, and delivery drivers.
Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, vehicle, and delivery logs, and direct authorized personnel to designated check-in areas.
Observe inbound and outbound truck traffic, deliveries, and gate activity, reporting unauthorized access attempts, unusual activity, and policy violations.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, production areas, and the perimeter.
Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
