About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Access Control to serve and safeguard clients at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In this screener role, you will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by screening personnel and visitors, monitoring access points, and reporting security concerns. You will use a computer or tablet to document activity and communicate with site stakeholders. The position is scheduled Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The pay rate is $20.14 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and deliveries according to site requirements; verify authorization and direct individuals to appropriate access points.
• Monitor entry points and screening equipment, report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity, and help deter prohibited items from entering the location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following established escalation and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entrances, and the surrounding perimeter, documenting observations and security-related incidents.
• Use a computer or tablet to document activity and communicate with site stakeholders.
