About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for access management at a logistics and distribution location in Wyoming, Michigan. The officer will help safeguard the site by managing entry and exit points, verifying credentials and visitor authorizations, monitoring activity, and supporting a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. The role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, incident deterrence, and conduct aligned with Allied Universal’s values. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The pay rate is $16.53 per hour. The position may involve site-specific access-control procedures, patrols, maintaining records, and responding to incidents or emergencies as appropriate.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and delivery drivers by following site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency-response activities when appropriate.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
Control access for employees, contractors, vendors, and vehicles according to site procedures, escalating discrepancies or unauthorized access attempts to appropriate contacts.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, document observations, and notify appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, loading zones, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
