About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional - Unarmed to provide security in a hospital environment in Brandon, Florida. The role involves unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols, controlling access and egress, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, preparing reports, and deterring criminal activity and misconduct. Candidates must be comfortable working 12-hour shifts. Due to the safety-sensitive nature of the role, candidates must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law. A tuberculosis test and certain vaccinations may be required for this healthcare facility assignment. The pay rate is $17.50 per hour, and an active D license is preferred.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment under state or local laws and regulations.
• At least two years of verifiable employment history related to customer service or the protective service industry; security, healthcare, military, law enforcement, or corrections experience is preferred.
• At least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills and active listening skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.

Nice To Haves

• Active D license.
• Military service in an occupational specialty related to law enforcement or security, such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms, or a support role in a Combat Zone.
• Graduation from a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian), or verified work experience in law enforcement, adult corrections, or the firefighter field.
• Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice-related studies.
• At least eight years of service in any military branch.
• Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of hospital grounds on foot or in a vehicle and document unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Assist hospital staff with de-escalation involving patients and restrain combative individuals when necessary, within company and customer guidelines.
• Transport patients to the morgue as needed.
• Assist with escorting patients from the helicopter pad to the emergency room.
• Assist with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire departments in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized people to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits; ensure only authorized individuals enter and exit the hospital and prevent unauthorized movement of contraband or hospital items.
• Observe departing personnel to help prevent theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal meets client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required.
• Conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols, control access and egress, monitor CCTV and alarm systems, compose reports, and deter criminal activity and misconduct.
