About The Position

As a part-time Unarmed Security Officer supporting a financial institution in Norfolk, Virginia, you will safeguard clients and help maintain a secure environment. You will patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide customer service to employees and visitors. The position is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and pays $19.64 per hour. The role involves monitoring and patrolling the facility and its surrounding areas, observing visitor activity and access points, responding professionally to incidents, and completing required reports and logs. Applicants are subject to background investigation and drug screening as permitted by law. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to drug screening to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility interiors, entry points, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials according to site policies, and report unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
