About The Position

The Security Officer will serve and safeguard clients at a logistics and distribution location in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The role focuses on access control, including monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor entry records, and directing authorized personnel and vehicles. The officer provides customer service and clear communication while supporting security operations and helping maintain an orderly environment for employees, visitors, drivers, and deliveries.

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., at a pay rate of $19.00 per hour. Duties include access-control procedures, patrols, incident response, reporting, and escalation according to site procedures.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by following site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency-response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor and contractor entry records, and direct authorized personnel and vehicles according to site procedures.
• Observe inbound and outbound traffic, challenge individuals as appropriate, and report unusual activity to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision to help deter unauthorized access.
• Respond calmly and constructively to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter.
• Document observations and complete required activity reports.
