Security Officer Supermarket Customer Greeter
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer Supermarket Customer Greeter in Brooklyn, New York. This unarmed retail security role serves and safeguards clients while delivering customer service to store team members, shoppers, and visitors. The officer monitors assigned areas, conducts routine patrols, maintains a visible presence, supports access control and loss prevention, and communicates with store leadership and Allied Universal management. The schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.48–$19.48 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable law.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to store team members, shoppers, and visitors by following security procedures and site-specific policies and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of sales areas, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and observe customer and visitor activity, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established site procedures and contacting emergency services when needed.
- Prepare accurate reports and communicate with store leadership, Allied Universal management, and responding personnel about incidents and daily activities.
