Security Officer Supermarket Observation
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol Security Officer at a retail location in New York, NY. The officer will safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, supporting access control, and assisting with loss prevention awareness. The role includes providing customer service to guests and team members, communicating professionally, and responding to security-related concerns with integrity. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The pay rate is $18.48–$19.48 per hour. Applicants are subject to background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, drug screening. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to drug screening as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to customers, team members, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following site procedures and reporting requirements.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned retail areas, including sales areas, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter.
- Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, and communicate observations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and traffic flow while maintaining a professional presence that helps deter unwanted activity.
