About The Position

Allied Universal is seeking an unarmed Security Officer to support a retail location in New York, NY. The officer will safeguard clients and help deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, monitoring access points, and providing customer service and clear communication. The role is part-time, with scheduled shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Pay is $18.48–$19.48 per hour. The position serves shoppers, team members, and visitors by following security procedures and site-specific policies and, when appropriate, participating in emergency response activities. Officers respond professionally to incidents and concerns, report suspicious activity and other issues, and maintain required documentation. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements depend on applicable state and local rules and may need to be met before employment. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to shoppers, team members, and visitors while following security procedures and site-specific policies.
Carry out emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols of sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter spaces to help deter unauthorized activity.
Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally; notify appropriate personnel or emergency responders as needed.
Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
Maintain activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with company and site requirements.
