About The Position

As an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location in San Jose, California, you will safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, supporting access control activities, and providing customer service and communication. The role involves working with visitors, employees, and members of the public while following site-specific procedures and responding to emergencies. This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, paying $26.00 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience.
• A guard card or license.
• Access control or badge experience.
• A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while following site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor entry points, verify authorized access as directed, and remain aware of visitor activity and restricted areas.
• Respond calmly to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Prepare accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with site procedures.
