About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer at a premier retail location in Central Valley, New York. The role helps safeguard clients and create a welcoming environment through visible patrols, professional customer service, clear communication, and response to security-related incidents. Officers follow site-specific policies and emergency procedures and work with site management, Allied Universal leadership, and local responders as needed. The listed schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 1:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.00–$20.00 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, associates, and visitors while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of sales floors, entrances, stock areas, and perimeter locations; identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
Monitor access points and observe visitor activity professionally and discreetly.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
Prepare accurate reports and communicate with site management, Allied Universal leadership, and local responders as needed.
