About The Position

We are open to hiring either an armed Security Officer or unarmed Security Guard. The Security Officer is an armed position, that supports the Security philosophy and the mission of Sight & Sound by serving our guests, visitors, and co-workers, and stewards our facility and property. A minimum of 3-5 years of armed security, police, or military experience is required for the Security Officer position. The unarmed Security Guard supports the mission of Sight & Sound by serving our guests, visitors, and co-workers by stewarding our facility and property. This Security role will work overnight shifts during the weekends. This opening will work a 10pm to 8am shift on Friday and Saturday evenings, and a 10pm to 6am shift on Sunday evenings. This role will work an average of 28 hours per week. Sight & Sound maintains a 24/7 security presence. While this particular position has a well-defined schedule, there may be occasions when you might be needed for alternate shifts. The duties below outline the armed Security Officer role. The ACT 235 Certification and related training/experience is not strictly required for the unarmed Security Guard role.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of armed security, police, or military experience (for Security Officer position)
• Currently hold or eligible to obtain PA Act 235 Certification
• Valid Concealed Carry Permit
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Ability to respond calmly, rationally, and with discernment in a stressful environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Outgoing, personable, likable, approachable, and even-tempered
• Maintain a fitness level that allows for a swift and appropriate response to emergencies
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
• Available to work all shifts and travel occasionally for training
• Must be able to meet the following physical requirements upon hire and annually thereafter including: pass a physical exam by a medical doctor; have uncorrected vision of at least 20/70 in one eye and 20/200 in the other; have corrected vision of at least 20/20 in one eye and 20/40 in the other; pass a hearing examination (permitted to use hearing aid); pass a psychological examination administered by a licensed psychologist; and have no conviction of a disqualifying criminal offense.
• Must pass a drug & alcohol screening, both pre-employment and annually thereafter
• Must be able to pass a physical fitness assessment, both pre-employment and annually thereafter
• Must pass a psychological wellbeing checkup annually
• Must pass a background check, both pre-employment and annually thereafter
• Maintain a current PA ACT 235 certification
• Employees in this position are subject to random drug and alcohol screenings
• In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

• Attend and complete all annual training set by Security Manager/Trainer (range qualifications and classroom).
• Stay current with Sight & Sound security procedures and SOPs and establish strong working relationships with local public safety entities (fire, police, outside security contractors).
• Intentionally engage in positive relationships with Sight & Sound coworkers and guests.
