About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Lobby Desk in Elmira, New York, serving a healthcare education location. The role provides front-desk security and customer service for visitors, patients, students, faculty, and staff. The officer welcomes and assists guests, manages site access, monitors security-related activity, and responds to incidents in accordance with established procedures. The listed schedule is Tuesday and Sunday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM. The pay rate is $17.60 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Complete a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Complete a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and patients while following site-specific procedures and access-control protocols.
Staff the front desk; greet and direct visitors; verify identification and appointments as required; issue visitor credentials; and maintain visitor logs.
Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and communication systems, and report unusual activity, policy concerns, and maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical-related calls, and critical situations in accordance with emergency response procedures.
Provide information and assistance to guests while maintaining a professional presence that deters unauthorized access and supports an orderly environment.
