About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer at a utilities location in Spring Valley, NY, you will provide a welcoming, professional presence for employees, visitors, and contractors. You will manage access procedures, monitor entry activity, respond to security-related concerns, and provide customer service and communication. The role is scheduled Friday through Sunday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with a pay rate of $18.71–$19.71 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, as a condition of employment and in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen, as a condition of employment and to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Greet visitors, verify identification, manage visitor registration, and direct guests according to site-specific policies.
Monitor access to the utility location, maintain visitor and contractor logs, issue temporary credentials when authorized, and report access concerns to appropriate personnel.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, following established emergency response procedures.
Answer incoming calls, receive deliveries, and communicate routine information to employees, visitors, and authorized vendors.
Maintain accurate written and electronic records of visitor activity, incidents, and security-related observations, and promptly communicate concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
