About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Unarmed Patrol Driver in Schenectady, New York. The position provides a designated site and weekly anchor shift, with a six-month commitment to the assigned schedule. The officer may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with opportunities to increase hours up to 40 per week and the flexibility to scale back. The role focuses on customer service, unarmed patrols, incident response, observation and reporting, and maintaining required documentation at a retail location.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license, in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; a license may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience.
• Guard card or license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors, and store personnel by following security procedures and site-specific policies and conducting emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and with a problem-solving approach to incidents, customer concerns, suspected theft, and other critical situations.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter locations.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate store personnel and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol documentation according to site-specific requirements.
