About The Position

As a Security Officer Dispatch Coordination in Rapid City, SD, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries including utilities. In this dispatch-focused security role, you will coordinate communications, monitor activity, manage access control and badge processes, and support timely responses to security-related concerns. Using computer and tablet systems, you will provide customer service and help maintain an organized, welcoming environment. This is a part-time position paying $19.59 per hour, scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, utility personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls, alarms, service requests, and incident information to appropriate personnel in accordance with site procedures.
Monitor communication systems, access activity, and operational alerts; maintain accurate logs, dispatch records, and incident documentation.
Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, escalating concerns to site leadership, emergency services, and/or designated contacts as directed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and perimeter locations when required, reporting unusual conditions and security-related concerns.
