About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Screening Lead in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed Screener in a healthcare location, where you will monitor entry points, screen visitors and staff, and support a welcoming environment through strong communication and professionalism. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents while delivering service with agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, screening protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and/or vendors as they enter the location, verify approved access requirements, and communicate screening expectations in a courteous manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report unusual activity, concerns, and/or policy violations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, waiting areas, and perimeter locations to help identify security-related concerns and support an orderly environment.
  • Assist with directing patients, visitors, and staff to appropriate check-in points, provide basic information, and document screening-related interactions and/or incidents according to site procedures.
