Requirements

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Two or more years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience or a college degree is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a transportation location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations, and document access activity in support of security-related protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around designated buildings, gates, yards, and perimeter areas as assigned, noting potential concerns and reporting maintenance and/or security-related issues.
  • Assist with screening deliveries, directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic at controlled access points, and helping to deter unauthorized entry into restricted areas.
