About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Screener in New Port Richey, Florida, you will serve and safeguard clients at a government location. You will help maintain a secure environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, and reporting security-related concerns. A professional presence, strong communication skills, and attention to detail are important for deterring incidents and delivering service.

This is a full-time position paying $20.50 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employment is conditional on applicable background and drug screening. Industry-specific security training is required, and licensing requirements may apply before employment.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• An armed guard card or license.
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Participation in industry-specific security training programs.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and agency personnel while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Screen visitors, packages, and personal property according to access-control procedures; direct individuals to appropriate entrances, waiting areas, and points of contact.
• Monitor screening equipment and access points, identify prohibited or unauthorized items, and notify designated personnel of concerns or irregularities.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, follow established protocols, and document activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned public areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.
