About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time armed Security Officer for access control in New Castle, Delaware. The position provides reliable hours at an assigned site, with a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. The officer may also claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, potentially increasing hours to as many as 40 per week. The position pays $28.00 per hour and has a Saturday daytime shift from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities. Duties include monitoring access points, verifying authorized entry, maintaining visitor and contractor records, responding calmly to incidents, and conducting regular and random patrols. Work environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and maintain visitor and contractor records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, using problem-solving skills and escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, observe access-control conditions, and report irregularities.
