About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Armed Security Officer for a healthcare location in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The officer will help safeguard patients, visitors, staff, and the facility by conducting armed patrols, maintaining a visible professional presence, monitoring access points, and responding to security concerns and emergencies. The role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, professionalism, problem-solving, teamwork, and integrity.

The scheduled shifts are Friday and Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The pay rate is $17.00 per hour. Allied Universal offers access to a platform for viewing and claiming additional shifts, paid training, and career growth opportunities.

Requirements

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• Have at least six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations, potentially before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by following site-specific security procedures, hospital policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations; identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and critical situations, following established protocols.
• Maintain a professional armed presence while monitoring access points and supporting a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Accurately document incidents, patrol activities, and observed concerns, and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
